Today is indeed an exciting day in the life of the Urban Pixie! After breakfast, my sister & I shall take her Owen (age 5) to the Museum of Natural History to meet the Squid & the Whale as well as frogs, dinosaurs & the butterflies that beckoned from the website last night. But, the real excitement shall come en route. Having collected trains as well as Thomas & his troop of Tank engines, my dear nephew has never really ridden the rails.
Last night talking up the trip, I shared the story of my peaceful journey back from Boston on the Acela where I soaked up the sweet silence of the “Quiet Car.” Jiggling his penny collection in an aluminum carrying case, Owen made it quite clear he had no interest in taking the talk-free train. Lucky for Owen, we’re on the A! Here’s hoping some break dancing boys hop on in Harlem.
